Red-bellied Woodpecker

Melanerpes carolinus

Description:

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-b...

Habitat:

Wooded wetlands, with a lot of decaying trees.

Notes:

As I was photographing near a bird feeder this woodpecker flew a few feet over my head and landed on the tree in front of my camera. It seemed like it was just curious as to what I was doing — I get that a lot. Birds are come in close to me when I am photographing, most likely they are use to me.
