Common Tansy

Tanacetum vulgaire

Description:

A tall plant with several flat, wide, clusters of yellow, button-like flower heads. Leaf is deeply divided, fern-like Aster family.

Habitat:

Spotted at Tamarac near the Discovery Center. It is found in dry, sun, along roads.

Notes:

Considered an invasive species, introduced from Europe for medicinal and horticultural purposes. Common tansy is on the Minnesota list of secondary noxious weeds.
