Opodiphthera astrophela
12cm, brown
Nocturnal visitor to an apartment garden in suburban sprawl by the sea with nearby woods, swamps, rainforests, farms and various islands of remnant habitat
She made it back to the foliage before she began dropping her eggs The neighbours are now certain I am crazy as I stumbled through the apartment's garden at 2am with her on one of my painting knives until I found a safe place to return her

Thanks suzmonk. In Australia I believe insects are very prolific because they replace a lot of larger creatures found in habitats in other countries. I have been very lucky with them so far
Nice series. And nice rescue ... I'm glad you were able to get her to a safe place to lay her eggs. You find so many different kinds of insects!
