Haliaeetus leucocephalus
The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey species living in North America. Despite its name Bald Eagle ("bald eagle") or its popular name of "bald eagle", it is not a kind of eagle Aquila but a bald eagle Haliaeetus gender: it s 'distinguished by its diet consists mainly of fish, but also by its massive bill and the fact that his legs are feathered to the talons, one of the specific characteristics of real eagles. While the eagle lives in the forests and mountains, the bald eagle prefers lakes, rivers and coastal areas, where they can find food. As such, it is sometimes called "sea eagle" or "osprey" American. Divided into two sub-species, it is found on almost any area of North America, from Alaska to northern Mexico south to both the Atlantic coast and the Pacific. This is the national emblem of the United States, the species has been threatened time in this country in the twentieth century.
