Melampyrum pratense
A forest herb, 20cm tall, has a starch reserve attached to its seed to attract ants which then help disperse the seeds. It is a semi-parasite attaching to the roots of other plants taking water and nutrients. It is food plant of the Heath Fritillary caterpillar.
