Lepidodactylus lugubris
A cryptic 7-8 cm TL gecko with a yellowish cast to its patterned dorsal midline. I almost didn't see it (--the first photo was indeed how I encountered it). With it's relatively thick tail and limbs, and stubby toes this was a new a new species for me. "This species is notable because it is parthenogenic, and there are no remaining males that have been found."
Spotted on an Areca nut palm in a large semi-urban yard & garden adjacent to a disturbed remnant patch of forest.
This may well be one too http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/706...
Ali thanks. Please note my spotting already contains these attributes in the common name and tags. I am interested in finding the Scientific name, i.e. genus + species :-)
