Aborted Entoloma

Entoloma abortivum

The strange misshapen blobs growing with the more typical mushrooms are the result of an interaction between E. abortivum and another fungus, the Honey Mushroom, Armillaria mellea, where the parasitic Entoloma causes the Armillaria to develop "aborted" fruiting bodies.
