Phallus rubicundus
Green cap mushroom
Growing in some landscaping mulch in northern Indiana.
Sorry - the last sentence in the comment was incorrect.
Skinny orange/red stem would be Phallus rubicundus

This is a stinkhorn - either a Mutinus sp. or a Phallus sp. Mutinus sp. don't have a distinct head or cap to bear the slime; Phallus sp. have a distinct head or cap to bear the slime.
See: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/phallaceae...
This looks like it does have a cap, which would make it a Phallus sp.
The final species identification depends on the presence/absence of a skirt and the size and color of the mature stem - whether it is skinny and orange/red, or thicker with/without a pitted cap - then the color of the volva.
This stem looks skinny/orange-red which would make it Phallus ravenelii
This doesn't have a skirt.
