Blue-faced Honeyeater

Entomyzon cyanotis

Notes:

This series shows a vibrant Blue-faced Honeyeater having a grub for breakfast in a tree in our backyard yesterday. There were a couple of others around too - the fifth shot shows another one coming in to try and get a slice of the action. These birds are large honeyeaters that feed mostly on insects and other invertebrates, but which also eat nectar and fruit from native and exotic plants.
