Green June Beetle

Cotinis nitida

Description:

Green and yellow insect. Outer shell is iridescent green with yellow band around edge. Underside is metallic green/yellow. Approx 2.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide.

Habitat:

This one found in residential area of Bentonville, AR. Sugar Hackberry tree on property but very few native plants besides that.

Notes:

This one had recently expire. Green June Beetles only have a 1 year lifespan.
