Coast-wattle

Acacia longifolia

Description:

Small tree or large shrub, indigenous to coastal areas this species is considered a weed when occurring inland. Maybe confused with the local Acacia implexa or A. melanoxylon, however the Coast-wattle has fewer main veins (usually 2 sometimes 3) and flowers in long spikes rather than racemes. Acacia sophorae was separated from A. longifolia and differs in having a wider leaf.
