Suicide Tree

Cerbera odollam

Tall thin tree with waxy teardrop shaped wings. Green, lime sized fruits hang from long stems. Named suicide tree because it has been commonly used in suicides and homicides because the fruit is toxic and causes poisoning that mimics a heart attack.

SE Asia through australia

I'm a bit baffled as to why this neighborhood planted these trees in a close gated community... probably because they're evergreen and can provide shade... but still :O
