Eastern cicada killer

Sphecius speciosus

This is a large female, of the eastern cicada killer. These wasps, are named the 'cicada killer' due to the fact they hunt, and paralyze cicadas, to feed their young, when they hatch. These wasps, aren't aggressive against humans, unless provoked.

In my garden, Fort Worth, Texas.
