Autoba Noctuid Moth

Description:

Autoba versicolor Walker, 1864, of family Noctuidae, subfamily Acontiinae. The adult moth has pale brown wings, with a prominent dark line across each one. The wingspan is about 2cm. The caterpillars of this species attack the flowers of various fruits, including Mangoes (Mangifera indica), Longans (Dimocarpus longan), and Lychees (Litchi sinensis). The species is found across Southeast Asia as well as in Queensland, Australia.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on the wall of the garage.
