Le Conte's Sparrow

Ammodramus leconteii

Notes:

This beautiful little sparrow is a rare visitor to Massachusetts. It was first reported 2 days ago, and is a very cooperative bird, not afraid of people in close proximity. It even landed 3 feet away from one of the people there. The sparrow moved around a bit, feeding in and under the dead tufts of grass along the edge of the road, taking a bath in a marshy puddle and perching in some bushes along the road.
