Nuttallia obscurata is a species of saltwater clam, a marine bivalve mollusk in the family Psammobiidae. Easily recognized by the dark mahogany brown and purple colors.
Spotted at Dash Point State Park beach at low tide where a fresh water creek flows into Puget Sound, which is typical for this clam. Native to Japan.
An introduced species from Asia and considered invasive in Washington state.
