These chicken are missing some feathers on their necks. At first I thought this one had been very lucky and escaped the pot, but there was a clutch of chicks in a pen which the bird in the first image was getting very agitated about when I went near, and they also had neck feathers missing. I have never seen chicken like this anywhere else in Thailand
The neck feathers might be missing if they were in a battery farm, as close proximity means that the neck and other body parts become void of feathers due to rubbing and being pecked by the others birds in the cage. After such trauma it is not uncommon for the feathers to not regrow.
