Green Lynx Spider

Peucetia viridans

Description:

Small bright green spider with dark spots and hairs or barbs protruding from all along its legs.

Habitat:

This spider favors green plants. Hence the backside of the yellow flower has the green stem.

Notes:

I spotted it in a field of yellow flowers at River Creek Wildlife Management Area near Cairo, GA. As I came upon the flower I saw the tiny legs protruding around and to my surprise was this amazing looking spider. It pays to actively investigate instead of just walking.
