Description:

A shrubby climbing species of the genus Lonicera, native to southern Europe. It has two bracts welded at the base of the inflorescences, these appear immediately on the bracts, in globose groups (the bracts form a kind of "pot" that contains the flowers). The color of the bilabiated flowers varies from pink (before opening) to yellow-white once opened.

Habitat:

Pine and holm oak forest in a dune area next to the Mediterranean Sea. It prefers semi-arid calcareous soils in frost-free areas throughout the year.
