The scientific names for many organisms can be found by doing a simple internet search. The genus for "blazing star" plants is Liatris. (I just looked this up doing a Google search for "blazing star"). This looks somewhat similar to Scaly Blazing Star, Liatris squarrosa, but I am not sure if this is the correct ID.

Did you happen to get any photos of the leaves?

If I knew the scientific name I would include it.

Hi Schoonsart, you have many beautiful spottings! It is important to include the common and scientific names for spottings in which you know the identity. Without the scientific name, your spottings are considered unidentified and will not be sorted properly by the Project Noah database.

Please update any of your spottings that you know the ID, but the spottings are missing the scientific names. Thanks!
