Cap, ca. 2.5-inches diameter with grayish surface; no apparent scales; depressed; flesh firm-to-tough, bruised yellowish. Gills, slightly decurrent; smooth margin. Stipe, ca. 0.75-1 inch diameter with slight roughness, no readily apparent scales. Odor. No distinctive odor. Taste (dried). No distinctive odor; possibly peppery aftertaste. Spore print. White

Habitat:

Growing alone on small piece of rotting wood (species not determined; unable to determine hardwood vs. conifer)

Notes:

Mushroom has properties that make distinguishing Pleurotus sp. from Lentinus levis difficult.
