Description:

Cap. White. 0.5-2 cm diameter; convex, becoming flat; bald; becoming slightly wrinkled. Stark contrast between the black stem and white cap of Tetrapyrgos nigripes is also striking Gills. Beginning to run down the stem; distant or nearly so; with cross-veins; white; Stem. 2-3 cm long; approximately 4-5 mm thick; uniform thickness along its length; dry; straight; inserted directly into the substrate; tough; going from light to black at the base upwards to lighter at the top; covered with tiny white hairs

Habitat:

Saprophytic. Growing on leaf litter and twigs in hardwood forest on floodplain above a creek. Growing alone and in small groups of two or three.
