Coffea sp.
White flowers growing on coffee bushes. Looks like large clusters of jasmine. Mildly perfumed. Third shot shows a part of the plantation.
Coffee plantation in Coorg. Coorg produces two main varieties of coffee beans: Arabica and Robusta. We learnt that 2 inches of "blossom showers" were necessary for full flowering.

Thank you, Leuba. I had never seen coffee flowers; just the berries. This time I was on time. It seems they need 2 inches of "blossom showers"Those plantation owner that had arranged for sprinkler irrigation had plants in full bloom. Our homestay owner had not bothered as it is not his primary business (hospitality is) so his plants were still in bud!
It's great to see a spotting of coffee flowers Sukanya. I have seen heaps of coffee plants with berries mostly in Summer in India (Western Ghats) - a little late for flowers. They look lovely. Thanks for sharing this.
This was the first time I visited a coffee plantation (and peppervines grow on the shade trees). Had not known that coffee flowers are so pretty and that they perfume the air around them.
Awesome spotting, Sukanya. Don't often consider this part of the coffee cycle. I'm at the other end, mug in hand :)
