Description:

Fern with sterile leaf frond and fertile panicle that bears sporangia Leaves usually last one season; occasionally last longer Fertile stalk arises near base of stipe or sometimes below ground level Sterile blade mostly 2-pinnate, the segments sharply serrulate Sporangia on branching segments at upper end of the fertile stalk Sporangia are sessile and approximately 1 mm diameter.

Habitat:

On ledge (floodplain) in wooded area above creek
