Rough Green Snake

Opheodrys aestivus

Description:

A beautiful green snake of smaller size and very great at camouflage! The only reason we spotted this one was because it slithered across our path. Probably trying to find a hibernating spot. After handling for a few minutes this snake was released back where we found him/her.

Habitat:

Woody, forested area (Osage Hills in Osage County, OK).

Notes:

Beautiful, smaller-sized snake that blends in very well with its surroundings.
