Variegated squirrel

Sciurus variegatoides

Description:

Sciurus variegatoides is a large tree squirrel with a long tail. The fourteen subspecies show high variability in color and pattern. Thus, the tone of the dorsal fur of almost black, on red-brown, gray vary to know. With a head-body length 22-34 cm and a tail length from 23 to 33 centimeters, the variegated squirrel is slightly larger than the squirrel. The weight is 428-909 grams.

Habitat:

The variegated squirrel inhabits both dry and humid forests of Central America and Mexico.
