A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Found this small jumping spider (about 6-8mm) on a Gabi (Taro) leaf. It did not want to be photographed, and I just managed 2 not very clear shots before it jumped out of my sight. The jumping spider family (Salticidae) have some of the best vision among invertebrates and use it in courtship, hunting, and navigation. Though they normally move quietly and fairly slowly, most species are capable of very agile jumps, notably when hunting, but sometimes in response to sudden threats.

Normally jumping spiders will reside in the same tree as i observed...
I used to observe two striped jumping spider with many days in same tree..
U know?
i have similar spotting to this jumping spider(funny that it is also of poor quality)...i ll upload tomorrow :)
Good idea! Will do that Adi :)
Search for it in same place..sometimes there is a possibility of seeing it again!
Thanks Adi! I wished that too, unfortunately, I had difficulty in focusing my camera, and I was only able to get these 2 not very clear shots. I tried to crop the picture to have a bigger view, but the quality was already too poor :(
This is very beautiful Agnes! I just wish for a more detailed/big pic :)
