Stick Grasshopper

Pseudoproscopia (scabra?)

Description:

At about 15cm, its the biggest one I've ever seen. Therefore, it's probably a female as they tend to be bigger than males. Cryptic colouration in shades of brown, with an irregular mottled pattern. Its "horn" is just about the same length as the short antennae; hind "jumping" legs are about three times the length of first and second pairs.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. However, this particular specimen was found in a garden, just outside the town of Tena.
