Description:

Fungi growing in a hole in this tree. It "forms" at the first of August. I have seen it here (every summer) for the past several years & have searched & cannot seem to ID it.

Habitat:

Growing in a tree.

Not sure but maybe ? time is right. Is it on a maple?
