Muscovy duck. Pato moscovita

Cairina moschata

Habitat:

Public garden.

Notes:

409/5000 The Muscovite was a wild bird originating from central and southern America, it is the only domesticated duck that does not derive from the Mallard. They are non-migratory birds and they like to perch in the trees at night. It was one of the first ducks to be domesticated but did not reach the United Kingdom or North America until the 20th century. It is thought that its name comes from the company that commercialized them, back in the year 1500.---------------------------------------------------------El Moscovita era un ave silvestre originario del centro y del sur de América, es el único pato domesticado que no deriva del Mallard.
