Green & Black Poison Frog-Rana venenosa verdinegra

Description:

Combination of bright green and black patches in distincitve. Individuals from the caribbean slope are mostly pastel green, while those from the pacific are often metallic green and show more black.

Habitat:

The diversity of species is greater in Panama and Costa Rica. It live in cloud forests, lowland rainforests, xerophytic Andean forests, etc.

Notes:

Known as poison dart frogs or arrowhead frogs, endemic to Central America and South America, which includes 184 species and is closely related to the Aromobatidae family, which forms the Dendrobatoidea superfamily. The photos were taken in Palmar Norte, Osa.
