Scissortail Sergeant

Abudefduf sexfasciatus

Description:

It is a large damselfish that can grow to 16-22 cm. It displays 5 vertical black-strips in tail and sides, which are reminiscent of the insignia of a military Sergeant. Adults live in coral reefs while younger individuals live in the open sea.

Habitat:

Seen in a shallow reef in the shoreline of Lankayan, Sabah.
