Brown Creeper

Certhia americana

Description:

These fascinating little birds (11.7-13.5 cm long (4.6-5.3 in)) creep about on trees looking for food items in the bark. Adults are brown above with a scattering of lighter spotting and are very well camouflaged when on a tree. They are white below. The long thin bill is slightly decurved. Both sexes are similar in coloration.

Habitat:

They are typically found in mature conifer forests, although I've spotted tehm in deciduous forests and even in my suburban backyard.
