Thank you Ashley. Natral there is over 9000 species of plants occurring in the area, around 6200 of which are endemic. The Fynbos floral kingdom encompasses 46,000 km² (Netherlands-33,000 km²-1400 species, none of them endemic.)Table mountain supports 2200 species, more than the UK! So yes, the term is very broad and identification requires a fair amount of expertise. If you look at my other spottings, most of them fall within this category, you will notice that I actually do identify these species, although it takes time and research; I have 7 reference books and this is not enough sometimes, I also approach experts in the field for identification if required. I would rather give a broad identification, than just blurt out what I might think it may be.

Natral, "It is the term given to a collection of plants (a vegetation type) that are mainly shrubs and is comprised of species belonging to South Africa's southwestern and southern Cape."
