Tan Mantis found in tall grass wetland area while pulling purple loosestrife. I think it might be the invasive Chinese mantis, but I'm not sure

There is a good chance that this is a Chinese Mantis, Tenodera sinensis. It is definitely from genus Temodera. The Chinese Mantis is more common. Did you happen to get a photo of the area between the front raptorial legs? http://bugguide.net/node/view/386
