Vine Numerous flowers in Flowers have 4 sepals (about 0.5 inches long)/no petals and numerous stamens Leaves in triplets; opposite; leaves have smooth edges (compared with leaves C. virginiana which have toothed edges)


Climbing on bushes as edge of reservoir


Non-native (Asia). This is an invasive species. Flowers are very similar to those of the native Virgin’s Bower (Clematis virginiana)
