Poronidulus conchifer
Mature polypore approximately 1 to 1.5 inches ‘wide’ and 1 inch ‘deep;’ very light zones of color. Most had young polypores developing as ‘caps’ at the attachment point. Young polypores (on these specimens) presenting as kidney-shaped ‘nests,’ 0.25 to 0.75 inches ‘wide’ Attachments appear as stubby ‘stems’ in young polypores, and are clearly visible from underside on both mature and young polypores. Pores are ‘large’ and clearly visible with the naked eye; approximately 2/millimeter; angular and irregularly shaped.
Growing on a small (0.75-inch diameter) branch that had fallen recently
Could be mistaken for a Trametes versicolor-like polypore, but the ‘caps’ at the attachment point, the nest shape with concentric dark/light color zones in the young polypores, and the large pores set these apart. These are striking polypores.

Thanks all!
I'm honored that this humble little polypore earned the SOTD.
This is the first time I had ever seen this polypore and I only ID'd it by accident. But I'll certainly recognize it if I see it again. :-)
beautiful shots, couple with informative package. Great stuff and congrats for SOTD.
Congrats on your SOTD!
