Marabou Stalk

Leptoptilos Crumeniferus

Description:

A very large stalk with a bald head and pink throat pouch which is especially prominent when in flight with its head tucked into its shoulders. It is oppertunistic and will scavange refuse, carcuses or kill small animals. A slight problem in human land fills where it eats food remains.

Habitat:

A common sight throughout savannah and often seen in citties.Nairobi in Kenya is an example.
