Small elongate moth which mimics bark, 8mm long. The upper wings have several patches of large scales which stand upright, looking like chips of bark on a tree truck. The coloring is all in shades of browns and beige. Notice the short sharp little backward-directed spines on the hairy palpi of the head.
At garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico 2,200 meters.

Thank you Dawn, its so true, we would never find these things if they were in their own habitat.
So cool Lauren! I wonder how many times they are just passed by due to their excellent camouflage!!
