Large Copper Dung Beetle

Description:

Large, broad beetle about 30mm long, black with a purple shine, the striations on the elytra separate this species from the similarly colured Plum dung beetle (Anachalcos convexus)

Habitat:

Attracted to lights.

Notes:

It walked through some old cobwebs some of which are still attached to the rear foot
