Ground Snake

Sonora semiannulata

A super variable species, they can be solid brown, solid orange, or any combination of the two colors with stripes or bands. These two are pretty similar: brown body with orange dorsal stripe. This species doesn't get big at all, adults are around a foot in length.

Found under a rock near a small creek in a mostly mixed-grass prairie area.
