Description:

The aredea cocoi or "garza mora" is very common in Uruguay and it is one of our largest birds as it can reach 75 cm of height. Generally, it stands in solitude in waterlands, lagoons, ponds and rice fields.

Habitat:

Southamerica. In Uruguay it can be seen year round.

Notes:

This bird in particular was spotted in the flamingo pond of our city´s zoo.
