Hummingbirds

Trochilidae

Description:

There are a number of hummingbirds that come to the feeder outside. It is hard to tell the color but they are most likely green or brown. The brightly colored ones are males, their color attracts females for reproduction while the females are brown in color. They are very small and have a short high pitched chirp. They make a small hum when moving fast and love sugar water.

Habitat:

I found this organism in my front yard. There is a large tree to the right of the feeders along with a flower bush and soil.

Notes:

Found on May 21st

Nice spotting.
After a quick search there aren't many species that have a fully dark head on a white collar. I reckon there's a good chance of Black-chinned Hummingbird - Archilochus alexandri
