Fulvous babbler

Turdoides fulva

Description:

Old World passerine bird, some 20 - 25 cm in length. Pale buff body, with mantle a nuance darker. Whitish throat, and slightly curved bill.

Habitat:

Normally this bird is more secretive and discreet, hiding well and difficult to see. I was a bit surprised to come across a smaller group in the open, playing around and not paying attention to me. These were taken in a back of the hotel facing the beach, in a garden bordering the semi-desert acacia scrub-land.
