Tirumala limniace
White with thin black bands. Touch of yellow on the ventral side.
Urban residential area. I pass this way on my morning walk. Before the pandemic I had noticed this Murraya paniculata shrub on the road supported a weedy creeper whose leaves had been nibbled on. To my delight I had spotted a couple of well-fed caterpillars. (https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12...) When they formed a cocoon, my friend and fellow PN member took one home to see what emerged. (https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/13...) I have been house-bound for two years and more and only resumed my walks recently. I was so happy to spot this caterpillar today on the under surface of the same weedy creeper. I took only one shot so as NOT to invite attention to them. I will keep an eye on them...may be post updates too. I will try and get an ID on the creeper.
Caterpillars favour plants of the Milkweed family or Family Asclepiadaceae. This one has a host plant that has heart-shaped leaves. I have not seen it flower; not sure it does. I went by the next day and photographed the host plant...any ID help would be most welcome.
