Texas Horned Lizard

Phrynosoma cornutum

Description:

These lizards have it all: spikes covering their bodies, ability to run fast, they eat ants, and best of all, squirt blood out of their eyes when threatened! These are amazing lizards and should be protected!

Habitat:

A large field with tall grasses, open patches of just rocks, and moss and lichen covering many areas. Found on a very hot day in the summer.

Notes:

We caught this lizard, then released it after a short amount of time.
