Ptilodon capucina
It is the caterpillar of a moth of the family Notodontidae. This caterpillar is green or brown with a yellow stripe down each side and two red humps at the rear end. It is polyphagous and feeds on a wide variety of deciduous trees and shrubs, like maple, birch, alder, apple, poplar, cherry, oak... The species overwinters as a pupa.

Yes, I was so lucky to find it! It was last year in the woods near our home. It was a lovely sight.
