Dichrostachys cinerea

Dichrostachys cinerea

The Sicklebush or Bell mimosa (Dichrostachys cinerea) is also known as the Chinese lantern tree or Kalahari Christmas tree. This tree was a small, bushy, thorny tree with deep green bipinnate leaves. The flowers were beautiful, bottle-brush like, with heads which are half pink and half yellow. The buds look like beautiful pink and yellow mulberry fruits.

Found along an off beaten track, hilly road alongside other wildly growing plants.
