Cairina moschata momelanotus
Changed the nomenclature to reflect more accurately
But it isn't a true muscovy duck, it is the domestic muscovy duck. Meaning it has interbred with other ducks and who knows what its genetics are anymore. True muscovy ducks are found in Central and South America.
Ah, not feral.
It may have been a pet to someone as we caught this pic off a dirt road towards a pond on someone's land. Around here ducks seem to come and go and this guy was a rare sight for us.
Important to note this is a domestic muscovy duck, and the scientific name is Cairina moschata forma domestica
Muscovy Duck (feral) unless it was on a farm.
