Description:

freshwater crustaceans resembling small lobsters, to which they are related. They are mostly a dark red color with small claws that can pinch. And other legs for walking.

Habitat:

Crayfish are nocturnally active, live in shallow freshwater habitats, and feed on aquatic plant and animal life, as well as dead Organisms in the water (scavengers).

Notes:

They breathe through feather-like gills.
